As soon as I found out that I was a candidate for the program at The Center for Bariatrics at Bailey Medical Center, I got excited at the possibilities of what lay ahead of me and the changes that I thought were pretty much out of reach anymore. I hadn’t given up, but it had gotten pretty frustrating and the toll the extra weight was taking on my joints and back was mounting fast.
Since my surgery, I have met and exceeded my expectations, such as dropping below 200 pounds. At 52 years old, I can say that I haven’t been at that weight since I was in 8th or 9th grade. Now I enjoy shopping for clothes and being able to buy off the rack. I even went to the amusement part with my kids and grandkids and was able to ride the rides rather than sit on the sidelines, because I was afraid I wouldn’t fit. I am also now running and biking again and just have more energy to do things I used to enjoy.
The doctors and staff at Bailey are wonderful and have been and continue to be great and caring in the treatment I have received. I am glad to share my experience and journey with others, but most of all, it has given me a new lease on life and time to spend with my wife, kids and grandkids.
