Your “new normal”

Four months post-op:

  • Crunchy fruits and vegetables, including salads. Some foods like apple skins, coconut and some nuts always need to be avoided. These foods can’t be chewed to applesauce consistency.
  • Lean pork

Six months post-op:

  • Beef: limit to one-two times per week to keep diet low in saturated fats, especially if you have heart disease

Tip: Avoid high fat meats (ex: bologna, bacon, pepperoni, ground chuck) and fried foods

Tip: Think about starting pork and beef with a meatball. Cook in broth or tomato sauce for moist, tender meatballs.
